Downstairs
This comfortable, welcoming cottage, traditionally brick built with a pretty slate roof, is cosy in winter and cool and airy in summer. The front door opens onto a small hallway with stairs to the first floor rising ahead and a door on the left leading into the dining room, furnished with an elegant glass table and steel chairs with rattan seats.
The sitting room and dining room are light and sunny with stripped pine flooring and white walls. There are a couple of sofas (one of which turns into a sofa bed), two bean bags, a flat screen television with Freeview and DVD player, an old sea chest for bedding storage, together with a supply of DVDs, books, games and jigsaws.
The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and gas hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. Crockery and cutlery for six is included, as well as plenty of utensils and equipment for everything from a roast lunch to tea and cake. There is also a utility room with and a cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin, with a door leading into the delightful secluded rear garden, full of colourful plants and hanging baskets. There is a pretty wrought iron table and chairs on a small terrace and a family-sized barbecue and a large wooden storage box housing beach toys and deck chairs for additional seating. The sunny, sheltered aspect makes it a delightful place for al fresco dining or just relaxing in the sun. At the bottom of the garden is a private parking space for a small or medium sized car.

Double bedroom and ensuite
At the top of the carpeted stairs, to the left, is the double bedroom with en-suite shower, WC and small basin. The family bathroom looks over the garden: it is a good size, with bath, shower over the bath, WC, wash hand basin and airing cupboard housing the combination boiler. Between the double bedroom and the bathroom lies the staircase up to the twin bedroom in the eaves, with space for a blow-up mattress or cot and plenty of hanging and storage space. This room is full of character and the dormer window gives extensive views over Whitstable.
